- « A friend in need, is a friend indeed ! » = Helping your friend is proving your friendship !

- « It’s the last drop ! » (… »that makes the cup run over ». Generally, only the first part of the proverb is said…)

= « It’s the last straw ! » (… »that breaks the camel‘s back !)  (id.) (I love this one ! I think it much more exotic and suggestive !)

- Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names ( or words) will never hurt me ! = I don’t care about what you’re saying !

- « People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!  » = (id.) Look at yourself, first ! If you’re not perfect, don’t criticize others, and take too many risks !
