- They’re like chalk and cheese ! = They’re very different !

- She sleeps like a log ! = very profoundly

- He has a lot on his plate ! = many things to do

- He’s like a square peg in a round hole, in that job ! = He’s like a fish out of water != He’s out of place ! he doesn’t fit in !

- Stop giving me the cold shoulder ! = Stop turning your back on me !
